On Saturday the 24th of July the Geelong Cats played the Brisbane Lions at Skilled Stadium. The Cats had a good week with Steve Johnson coming back in the side. Brisbane have lost 11 out of the last 12 heading into the game and it was Brendan Fevola’s 1st game at Skilled Stadium but we all knew he wasn’t going to do anything. In the 1st quarter Geelong kicked 5 goals to nil and we knew that Geelong was going to still be undefeated at Skilled Stadium for 2 and a half years. The scores at quarter time were Geelong 5.2.32 to Brisbane 3 behinds. In the 2nd quarter Geelong were dominating until the 19 minute mark when Brisbane kicked their 1st goal for the game. They kicked 3 of the last 4 goals for the half. The scores at half time were Geelong 10.4.64 to Brisbane 4.6.30. In the 3rd quarter Brisbane’s Brent Staker got reported for strking Darren Milburn. But Travis Varcoe and Steve Johnson snatched back the ascendancy with two goals each in the third quarter as the shell-shocked Lions failed to find anyone to support the solo effort of Brown. The scores at 3 quarter time were Geelong 16.8.104 to Brisbane 6.8.44. In the last quarter it was Geelong’s game winning by 63 points and putting them 2nd on the ladder behind Collingwood and thats who they play after this week and ANZ stadium against Sydney. The scores at the end were Geelong 19.13.127 to poor Brisbane 9.10.64. GO CATS!
On Saturday the 26th of June until Sunday the 4th of July me and my family went to Fiji. When we arrived at Melbourne Airport we had to check in and then we had to go through Customs. I was fine! Then our plane left at around 10am. On the Pacific Blue plane we went on there was a tv that we could watch. It was on the person’s back of the seat. It was only for when we were in Australian airspace so when it turned off I just played my DS. When we got to Nadi Airport it was hot, 30 degrees. We had to go through Customs there. I was fine. When we got to the Sheraton it looked good. We were staying in Room 1171. It was a good day. Then after we arrived we had a look around the Sheraton. It had 3 pools, a volleyball court, 4 restaurants, and a Internet cafe. Then on the 2nd day we went to the Feast restaurant for breakfast I had 8 donuts for breakfast with some toast. I had them every day for breakfast. After that we went to the Raddison because in their pool they had a waterslide. It was awesome. Then we went to Port Denarau for dinner. It was a quiet day. On the 4th day we went on a jet boat up the Sigatoka river to a viilage near there. My dad Trent and my mum Kerry got to taste kava. They say it doesn’t taste good. Then we had lunch with them and the we had a dance with them. It was fun. Then when we came back we got to do spins and we got wet. We had fish and chips on the 4th night and it was yummy! On the 5th day we stayed at the Sheraton until we went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. It had Michael Jackson’s leather jacket that he wore on his Thriller tour. It is the most expensive thing there. On the 6th day Dad went fishing and he caught some fish but he wasn’t allowed to take them back. I played volleyball all day and it was fun. On the 7th day we went to Nadi to have a look there. They have good things there. Mum brought some jewellery and she said she liked it. It was a exciting day. On the 8th day we got our suitcases packed because on Sunday we left Nadi for home. It took us 6 hours to get home. We got home at around 1:30am. It was a fun holiday. And also yesterday Geelong beat North Melbourne by 35 points. The scores were Geelong 14.14.98 to North Melbourne 9.9.63. James Podisadly kicked 5 again at Skilled Stadium. GO CATS
